I thought in Arizona, 1 percent humidity was a good thing... Just kidding. Here in Texas along the Gulf Coast, we have 80 to 90 percent humidity except in January, when it gets to be 40 percent... When I go to New Mexico or Arizona, my sinuses dry up like parched earth and I have to sleep with a wet rag on my nose. Sorry, Zerb, I totally understand, but spend a day here in Houston and you will long for home again...

 Are you kiddin' me? I moved to Phoenix from Houston and every time I visit, I'm like - why can't I still live in Houston?!?!!

It's no fun having a perennial nosebleed because you're at home. :disagree:
:o

Folks, I didn't even know 1% humidity could HAPPEN!!

I don't remember having nosebleeds, but I do remember just feeling so dry and parched that I had to use a wet rag on my face just to breathe. I remember driving one day from Flagstaff to Yuma. I left Flagstaff about 8:30 one morning in June and it was 84 degrees. I went down the mountain and into the Phoenix valley, got out to get gas and the wind literally got sucked out of my lungs. The heat (106 degrees) hit me in the face and took my breath away. By the time I got to Yuma, I was breathing heavily and had cranked the AC up full blast in my car.

I have worked for four summer vacations on the Pueblo reservations in New Mexico and then on the Navajo reservation on the border of New Mexico and Arizona. Eventually I did get used to it, but when I got there inevitably I had to do the wet rag thing.

Don't get me wrong, given the opportunity I would jump at the chance to live in New Mexico or northern Arizona. I love those places, but all I know is this is all about acclimation.

I feel for you Zerb.

1% humidity?! And I was thinking about how dry it was here. My homepage always gives weather for LA. I'm not sure why. I do keep track of weather in my old home that way. Yesterday it said 11% humidity. That's like parched dry for LA.

Zerbie, I will agree. I didn't know 1% was possible here on earth. My nose and sinuses hurt just thinking about it.

Here we are just cold. Ten degrees yesterday morning. That's ridiculously cold for the end of April.

I don't feel sorry for any of you. I live in Michigan, the 2nd least sunniest state in the US. Wahington is the 1st. Last week it was 75 degrees, and sunny. The week before we had tornadoes. Today its 32 degrees in the AM, and snow showers tomarrow, frost warning for 2 days. This weekend its suppost to be about 60ish again.

What I wouldnt give for some regular weather that I could count on. So, if it sounds like I am pouting, I am.:(

But, Zerbie, we do have humidity, about 90% and 100 degrees come July.

Haha... So it was 80 degrees at seven in the morning... and about 104 by high noon. Fun stuff. We all have crazy weather stories.

Yeah, I hear ya! Texas will hit that about July or August. And it will be insufferably humid and icky. I don't know what is worse...

Really? Sheesh, global warming must really be happening then. When I lived in Houston it never went above 105.

God!!!!!!!!

Maybe we need to put bubbles over our cities. I'm in hiding today.

The nice thing about 108 degrees is, when it gets down to 90 at night, it feels really cool. :p

Oh geez louise, it's already 109 degrees, and it's still mid-May.

Walking from the car to the building today, and back, my feet burned through my shoes (from the pavement heat.)

Luckily, it's only the first hot day of the year, so I didn't feel too bad. Plus, the giganto-hat works wonders.

95 here on Friday... a bit to warm I guess... but I didn't complain because I didn't want it to go away!

... but, everyone else was complaining and it did.. but we've been in the 60 area since then, which is really comfortable for around here. ..and now apparently it's raining :)

The Seattle area has really nice weather this time of year.
