This thread is where you post anything that will "brighten my day"... well, everyone's lives. Very similar to the comedy thread, but it doesn't have to be funny. Anytime someone needs to be cheered up, they can read this thread.
So, can anyone help me make this happen?

Perhaps this little story will provide some amusement:
As a dutiful activist, I am being supportive of a television program which normally would not have come to my attention (Luke and Noah, okay, okay). A writer, Kip Williams, on Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kip-williams/daytime-tv-and-the-homose_b_99088.html) noted that the AFA (a gaggle of bluenoses who object to any number of things) has set up a page to email the sponsors with a complaint about the inclusion of gay characters. Mr Williams further suggested that we supporters of gay characters use that very same page, with amended wording, to show our appreciation of those characters.
Oh, wait, it gets better.
So this I did, and as it happened, included my email address as part of the submission, and went on my merry way. A day later, what should appear in my mail box but an Alert from the AFA, warning me that the Marriot Hotel chain provides adult movies, (gasp) and must be stopped! Details were provided. At first I was horrified, and thought I would have to have my in-box exorcised.
But then I thought a moment, and at once sent off a note thanking the Marriot for treating adults like adults and congratulating the company on resisting pressure from pious canting scolds.
And then today, I received another alert, this one about ENDA (the Employment Non-Discrimination Act), warning me in shrill tones that I must call my senator to express my objections! So tomorrow I shall call my senator to express my support.
This is wonderful! I shall send a copy to all my sisters. We are always on the look-out for topical issues, and they are providing us with the hot button of the day so we can immediately counteract their negative voices with our positive ones.
Makes me think of a garden: lovely little flowers growing happily out of the AFA's fertilizer.

When I need cheering up, I watch music videos that make me happy on youtube.
The list includes:
-Don't tell me (Madonna AND dancing cowboys!)
-Why Go by Faithless (it's just adorable)
-Year of the Rat by Badly Drawn Boy
I'm not sure if this is quite what you had in mind, but...it's how I stay chipper.
Also, Sister: there you are! ;)

Ok, someone may not see this as funny, but I loved it. My son has an amazing sense of humor and I call him my own personal "Jim Carry".
I was my birthday today, and he made a card that read "Happy Birthday, just one year closer to dying". He has a seriously wicked humor. It made me laugh out loud. I had been so busy lately, I actually forgot it was my birthday!
