This is my first post and my first day on the site. I've been a great follower of Gandhi and Dr King for many years now, but am just now finding the soulforce.org folks. I'm new to Atlanta, from Houston Tx (I sometimes jokingly refer to myself as a TEXAN IN EXILE).

Howdy!
Welcome to the forums!
I lived in Houston for about 6-7 years and just left less than 3 years ago. I really liked it there, despite certain things (like the traffic on I 10, which I mostly was able to avoid, living inside the 610 loop, went to Rice so stayed near campus even after graduating). How'd ya like it there?

I lived in Crosby, which is near Deer Park/Baytown/Channelview you've probably heard of it (or maybe not)
I love Houston, my whole family is still there and I miss them terribly. I am a native born Houstonian so being away from home is horrible. But I don't miss traffic on I 10 -- or the sticky heat we have back home.

Welcome to the forums Mskruk! :rainbow:
From Texas huh? Cool. I leave for Fort Worth April 30, be there a week for work (auditor). ;) How far is Houston from Fort Worth? I'll try to avoid the 10 (sounds like our freeways here in CA).
Anyway, glad you're here!!! :)

Are you driving to DFW? Not clear from your note. It's been a while since I've driven between Houston and DFW, but I'd say it's about 4 -5 hours? Anyone?
If you're driving around Houston, you don't wanna hit I 10 ANYTIME close to rush hour. Middle of the night, maybe okay!

Zerbie, I'm flying to Fort Worth (from Sac). I'm doing an audit at one company in Fort Worth and then a 2nd later in the week in No. Richland Hills (very close). I was just wondering how far Houston was in case I felt like driving, but at that distance, doesn't sound like I'll be doing that! I'm hoping to avoid most freeways at least until No Richland Hills!!!
