So I have a story about my work today that I thought I should share with all of ya'll on here, it's one of those moments when you know that God is watching.
At Target we have a program, like most mainstream retailers, and a process for providing donations to the community for charities, schools, non-profit organizations and the like. Corporate requires that we can only give gift cards, no merchandise or cash. Well, had presented a homeless shelter today with a hundred dollar gift card to spend in the store for things that they would need. It was quite an ordeal and we gave them the card, but the lady accepting the card didn't want to spend the money all buy herself so instead she was going to take it to the shelter and everyone would pay for it.
About fifteen minutes after she left a gentleman and his son came in asking how much money they had on their gift card, I did the inquiry and told them it had one hundred dollars. They both looked as if they had been blessed by angels. At the time, I didn't think much of it, until fifteen minutes after that, the lady who we had presented the original gift card to called the store, saying she had lost the card.
I did some research and found that the card I had scanned for the man was actually what was meant to go to the homeless shelter. When I went to check the balance again I found that all but $19 had been spent. And then when I went to transfer the remaining funds there was no money left on the card. I was quite perturbed, and called the lady back letting her know there was no money left on the card, and I also had my security guy look through the camera's to see if the man was still in our store.
I caught up to him as he was on his way out the door, but I never stopped him. He was crying, and telling his son to remember that Jesus was looking out for them, and that today was proof of that. When I went back to my computer I found that he had purchased food and clothes for his son.
I realized that God must have made the card fall out of the lady's folder just for this man and his son to see. When I had at first been mad that some man had taken money that was meant to go to the homeless shelter I realized that to him, it was a little miracle.
