I was reading through Daniel's 'music' thread, but opted to start a new one, since this is about music but something entirely different.
My cousin's oldest two daughters just had their first official CD released by a major recording company today. That's not the point here tho (if you are interested PM me for info). I have had the pleasure of having some of the music to listen to for a time (a short version came out earlier this year with 5 songs). There music is not only wonderful but comes with a message.
Well, they just finished up their first music video, based on a song called "The Kiss". It's written loosely on Romeo and Juliet, couples that aren't supposed to be together. The music is catchy, the words powerful. They decided for the video, they would have various real-life couples engaging in a kiss during the chorus part of the song. Mixed races, young-old, same sex. Their website has some of the real-life couples' stories along with the video. I think it is SO cool that these young ladies did this. Both are straight but have many gay friends (of course, being in the music industry and having at least one gay cousin!). This is what our youth are bringing today, being open-minded, accepting, loving, regardless of a person's in-born characteristics, traits, etc.
I'm really excited for them, hoping they see great success, and really proud that in the beginning of their official big-contract career, they went out on a limb and did this video. I hope they continue to bring this type of message to us through their music!
