Yesterday a friend from South Germany (Bavaria) phoned me to inform me that he was thrown out of his church municipality, cause he is gay, and didn't want to undergo a "therapy". His preacher wanted that he takes part in a program of "Living Waters" to be "cured/healed". Because he didn't want this, he was excommunicated.
I gave him the address of a friendly parish priest, which offers for lesbians, gays and transsexuals a service every Sunday, and which also makes consultations. She was earlier transsexual and lives now as lesbian.

His preacher did him a favor! By not allowing him back into the church he can't look back! He must let Go! Very necessary to grow and be true to his nature!..

It's always hard at first but his preacher actually saved him years of waffling and suffering!

In time maybe he will forgive or even be grateful to this preacher

So now he can live and focus on the present!

Yes, I agree with Scotty. Maybe this was his Gods way of telling him that it is time for him to get with an affirming church that is better for his spiritual path? Never does the Creator close a door without opening a window, and often it is not a pleasant thing to change.

Hahaha!!! I giggle, cause it was the same what I told him (that window stuff).
I guess he must leave this past path to go further on his own path.

One of the hardest times I spent battling with myself over my lesbianism was in a Southern Baptist church. I am glad I left. There was so much misinformation, misuse of the Scriptures, and condemnation. Who needs it? This lesbian needs to find her own way after this experience and I applaud her for not wanting "therapy". She knows who she is and has accepted it. I will pray that God leads her to a place of worship where she can be who she is and grow in her relationship to God.

To me it's pretty damn obvious who really needs the "therapy". And it aint the gay Christian.

I am so sorry for your friend, It is devastating for a person to suddenly lose their spiritual base. It feels like you are cast off into a whirlpool. The important thing now for him is to have caring friends like you Linda.
