I just saw this video, and wanted to share it, because it brought tears to my eyes. This is a very old anti-war song, but the video brings home the horrendous crimes we're committing in Iraq. Kara

I remember that song "one tin soldier" from girl scout camp in the 70's.
My counselors were hippie types and sang to us campers every night. "One Tin Soldier" was one of their favorites. Along with lots of PP&M.

I was 11 or 12 that summer and had my first crush on a counselor. She saw me up in a tree and said "Git down Evel Kenieval or you'll gimme heart failure!". From then on, whenever she would pass by I'd climb a tree just so she would talk to me. :D

I was in Costa Rica six years and nine months ago when this war started. That night I raised a toast:

"To the end of this war and to peace."

Two of my friends I was vacationing with have passed away now. I have moved, changed carreers, and and lovers.....but the war still goes on. None who were present for the toast are now available to see what we hoped for that night.

When will it end, I wonder?

That is cute. I am an Eagle Scout. I did return my badge to the Exec. office when they banned Gays. I was very active while a scout. So, they all knew me. I told them they didn't want me anymore. They were very dismayed and told me to keep the badge I worked so hard to earn. I told them to change their policy. My scouting years are full of great memories and cute crushes as well. Thanks for reminding me of those sylvan years.
