I went out and cut some of the first flowers in the flower beds.....zinnias and baby's breath, and some dianthus, which have been blooming for some time now.

Very nice flowers Keltic. I had hundreds of yellow daffodils in my yard last March but nothing blooming now. My yard is boring in the summertime.

Very nice. I'm envious; I've never had the knack. All I can get to grow are dandelions and buckhorns. I still have a few of the latter hanging on.

Flowers in our yard: Lilies, Gay Feather, Four-O-Clocks, Digitalis, Hosta, Petunias, multi-floral hedge rose.

Veggies: Tomatoes on the way! Peppers.

Livestock: Goldfish, Wrens, many visitors to the St. Francis fountain standing over the fish pond.

Trees: Locust, White Pine

All of this is in a tiny condominium courtyard and a tiny area just outside the courtyard fence.

It's all really an incredible jungle, but Jim hates to see anything pruned or thinned. It's all on the southside of our building, but the two trees shade things a great deal. I'll be curious to see how well the tomatoes will produce--first year at that--growing them in containers--they're catching some sun.

I didn't know goldfish qualified as "livestock."
Fun to know.

... so far, we have cut delphinium (3 kinds), bellflower (2 kinds), shasta daisies, pincushion flowers, snapdragons, blanket flowers (2 kinds), coreopsis, gayfeather, pansies out the ears (not the official name), roses and astilbe. Not cut yet: painted daisies, daylilies, petunias (these aren't good cut) and quite a few others I don't remember right off. The wisteria I planted last month is now blooming, as well. The garden is shaping up. Oh, yeah, we're about a week away from the first roma tomato and bell pepper.

Oh Keltic, you really do flame don'tcha. I love your arrangement and only a flaming gay man can produce something that beautiful. I personally love hibiscus. I fell in love with this flower the first time I went to Hawaii. Big brilliant colors that grow wild. Kinda like me! LOL.

Love your arrangement, nonetheless. Are you going to do the flowers for your upcoming wedding here in a few weeks? If you do, I would love to see the pics.:)

yes, the plan is to use the flowers from the garden to do one big arrangement for the communion table. I'm hoping I can go buy that Lenox vase that's on sale for $50. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to do some bargain shopping. guest tables won't be getting flowers.....we got something else in mind and I'm not revealing everything here!

I read your blog Steve and I am happy the Brady Bunch is going to be there. Are your parents coming/his parents coming? I am sorta jealous that you got to meet up with Daniel and his hubby. That would have been a cool thing. Maybe when I am in NY next, I can meet him and you if I am ever in Pennsylvania. At any rate, loved your blog and whoever did that to your car, karma will kick them in the butt for that. Blessings to you and Scott and remember, love conquers fear. :)
