Hello,
I'm Karen- a retired lecturer. I have been devoted to non violence since I was 16! I was on the first Aldermaston March! I lived most of my life in the Aldermaston/ Burghfield area and regularly held prayers outside the fence of ROF Burghfield. The MOD Police were mystified by our behaviour.
I am also concerned with attitudes to gay people. There's still much to be done in that area. Today, I'm a respectable citizen in retirement- slightly handicapped, but ready to protest where necessary.
Peace.

Is it really POSSIBLE to be a retired lecturer? I have to say, that I love to train, teach and present, and I cannot imagine EVER wanting to retire from that; I think that I am addicted to sharing info and learning from others, but I suppose that someday I will want to just relax and get off my soapbox.....

I am in PA and am just kind of coming into my activism realm over the last couple of years, just since I found out about these crazy people around here......myself included. Enjoy finding your way around here. Peace to you, Vanessa

Aldermaston and Burghfield seem to be in Berkshire, southern England, and by ROF might you mean R.A.F.? And by MOD, I assume that this has something to do with law enforcement, and not someone on a motorscooter.

At any rate, welcome to our forums, and come back and tell us more about yourself. I was only 10 years old, at the time of the demonstration that you speak of.

Peace and Love, Bruce Chris
