My name is Marion and I was first introduced to the GLBT world
through friends and then my youngest daughter (who was accurate)
announced to us at the tender age of three that she was "the new
kind of woman," and the ride was on. We have all learned a lot in our
family, and among my friends. I have a niece who is lesbian also, and
I do what I can in their honor, and because I so strongly believe in real
equality and in real rights--no one left out.
Love to all of you,
Marion, Outraged (usually) in Oakland, California, over one thing or
another. . . .

I live in Minneapolis, which seems to be as gay friendly and trans accepting as a person is likely to find. But there are exceptions even here. Still, we have a wonderful gay community, where there are good things and good people in abundance.

So how old is your daughter, and what is she doing these days? Tell us more.

Namaste', Bruce Chris

Welcome to the site, Marion. I live in New York City and there are plenty of GLBT folks here. I'm happy that you have come back.

I saw your quote by Gregory of Nyssa. I will be doing some research about him.

Welcome back Marion. Good to see, I mean, hear from you again!

You are close, I'm in Sacramento. What a great state we live in, but yes, sometimes I'm pretty exasperated - not necessarily because of 'CA' but things in general. But, sometimes my fellow citizens and our politicians make me see red.

Especially today at 1115am. (I'm a state worker, and as of then, my governor believes I should be paid the federal minimum wage.)

Welcome. Your post made me wonder if you read this blog at all: http://seethingmom.blogspot.com/. Just throwing out there that moms like you always make me feel all warm and fuzzy. (Mine is pretty cool, but more "neutral" than wanting to help make the world better for me and my brother in regards to equal rights).
