... quoted from a letter written by Archbishop Williams when he was AB of Wales:

“I concluded that an active sexual relationship between two people of the same sex might therefore reflect the love of God in a way comparable to marriage, if and only if it had about it the same character of absolute covenanted faithfulness.”

One has to wonder if the Archbishop had marching orders from the Queen, who is the temporal head of the Church of England, or the Prime Minister as her spokesperson. Was it: keep this last vestige of Empire intact at whatever cost? Certainly, his private statements stand in contradiction to his public actions since his elevation to Canterbury.

And ++Williams does kinda come off looking more like a hypocrite, by comparison. :( :o :(
