Well, now that our dear Keltic and his lovely husband Scott are enjoying the sights (and their room) at their honeymoon destination...it's time to break the news.

Yes, I'm getting married!!!:D September 20th, this year so I'm making plans like crazy, stressing out a little bit and basically having a great time working on everything with my partner. We are so excited and happy. It's a lot to bring together in this short time (we pretty much decided about mid-July), but it's starting to come together. Except for our ceremony site, late cancelation (due to the cost) and now scrambling to find a new venue!

Are we invited??????????????? :D

Sure, you bet! Come one, come all! Thanks for the well wishes.

Working on finding a new ceremony site now...read our first ceremony draft, got a little teary eyed. It's very sweet. We are going to write our own actual vows, but the rest is quite nice as is.

Congratulations Tdogg! That's fantastic news! Have you thought about an ocean side ceremony? The California beach at sunset would be beautiful.

Thanks Rick!

We thought about having it at the ocean but not wanting to spend the money on a reception there. So thought about having the ceremony one day and reception at our house the 2nd. But so many would have to drive there (I know if they really wanted to go they would drive the distance). We both wanted it at the ocean. But decided for the sake of practicality we would stick close to home. We are honeymooning in Vegas which will be great. And whenever we are ready to renew vows or celebrate an anniversary, we can then have our beach ceremony. It would have been exquisite tho!!

WOW, I go away for a few weeks, don't check in, and everyone goes and plans weddings...... LOL This is fantastic news; i feel so happy for the two of you; no matter what plans and details, the idea that you can do it, do it legally, and be open about that is tremendous........

Sending lots of love and hugs your way!!!!:love::love:

Yes, come one come all! It will be a great time. Crowded but fun. Things are coming together. We are going to do a workbook this weekend, to write some of our own vows. We're very excited to do this. It will also help us to identify areas that we want to work on more - which we kind of know, but doing the work together will help formulate a plan and make a commitment. One of the things we aren't good at is getting regular exercise. That's an area we both want to improve and motive each other in.

We are both excited and the days are flying by!!!

Sounds like y'all are having a very exciting year with your activism in the fight against the California marriage amendment along your plans for your upcoming wedding in September.

These are days you'll always look back on with stirring emotion.

Enjoy. :)

Hi everyone! I'm literally finally breathing again. The last couple of weeks have flown by with barely enough time to breathe. Ok, an update for you but you'll have to wait for the pics. I'm off to Chicago (for work) tomorrow until Friday and also contending with school. So (deep breath) here goes...

The wedding was awesome. I was blessed to be waiting in the general area (while my wife and her parents were hiding behind the rose bushes - we were waiting until the wedding to see each other from the afternoon before). I got to greet and hug everyone that came as they arrived. It was incredible. Our ceremony was incredible. We chose the perfect officiant - our ceremony wasn't religious but we did include God. We had 3 songs and along with the basic outline written by the reverend, we wrote our own vows which we spoke to each other. Our sisters (1 each) also wrote and spoke a few words. It was an incredibly blessed and moving ceremony.

The reception was at our house and pretty informal. My wife's cousin made the cake, her first wedding cake and you would think it was a professional job. Each layer a different flavor cake & filling. I'll have to post a pic. My friend did all the food and it was an amazing layout. Everyone raved about the food. My wife's family brought the traditional Filipino dishes too. It was an excellent layout, in the house & outside (tables outside, sitting area, food, cake inside). We even set up a game room in the garage with ping pong, dance dance revolution & karaoke.

Vegas was fun, the weather was great, our resort was excellent and we even got to the strip a couple times (once to see a cirque show - Ka). We had a wonderful few days there but were ready to come home, be with our pets and veg on the couch! The downer - I had lots of homework and a 2 page essay to do during our honeymoon.

Well, it was a whirlwind, but we are married now (for 8 days!), and ready to get the paperwork done (work, retirement, etc.). Oh, and get the thank you's out and put away all our great gifts. We are so blessed to have so many friends and family who chose to celebrate our day with us. And it's just amazing to be able to call my love, my 'wife'!!!:love:

No problem, my friend. It's not like you haven't had a busy time lately! Isn't it the best to be able to say 'husband'?? Like we can say 'wife'!! I'm still shocked that we put our wedding together in 2 months! It was a crazy time (but well worth all the work and stress). :)

Thanks for the congrats and best wishes! My wife and I appreciate it so much. Right now I'm sitting in cold hotel room in the Chicago area (it's COLD here!) and missing her. But it's pretty cool to say the word - WIFE. :D

Will post some pics in a couple weeks or so. We are waiting to get pics from the photographer (a present from my sister - the one who came) and friends/family.

CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS! To everyone husbands and wives.

To all that thought we would never be truly happy or find our true mates. To those of us looking at our beloved sleeping next to us, and are in wonder of our path and seperate journeys that have brought us to this place. As we count breaths that they take and smile to oursleves at the wholeness we have achieved.

To the lifetime of happiness and tears. Joys and sorrows. Of holding each other as we age and lovingly recount the glory of our youth. Hugging our child and childrens children. Of building a lifetimes memories. As we grow older and grow together, and begin to look like each other in gestures and ways. We will still touch each other and smile secretly and have young ones ask us "how to make it last".

A toast to love and happiness:love:
