Crossroads are a part of life. You cross them or detour to in another direction. Either way, I'm headed somewhere. Life stands still for no one.

My thoughts about about being transgender have been altered periodically. It has been a lovely journey for me thus far. Years ago, the sight of two men or two women holding hands or kissing would have repulsed me. Now I love it! Fifteen years ago, I was incensed when I saw a man on the train wearing women's clothing. Now, I wear women's clothing. Goes to show you that you never know.

Perhaps the things I saw were pricking at my conscience and at my feeling that I was different. Until a few years ago I never knew why. Now as a transgender woman, my desire to see others not be ashamed of who they are. I'm still growing in my knowledge of LGBT and the transgender spectrum, in particular. I will come upon the crossroads from time to time and I must choose which direction I wish to go.

I cannot think of anything more important in life than the success in finding happiness. Sometimes happiness comes from knowing that you've made a difference in the lives of others. Other times it means simply living the life you are best suited for. I think with you Gennee it is both.

Your desire to see others not ashamed of who they are is because you want others to know the love you have found for yourself.
