our little town holds a festival every september. there are food booths, a full schedule of music performances, other activities for all ages. A local art club sponsors an art show. I entered 3 of my collages this year. I am happy to say that I won a First place Blue Ribbon for my piece, Fire Escape. I received $30 for this honor, but the entry fee was $20  I'm ahead by $10. :D
I'll try to put up a pic this evening.

With your winnings, you can buy a couple of beers and a lottery ticket! :D
Looking forward to seeing your work!

here's a pic
I didn't expect it to be so tough to photograph it. I didn't use non-reflective glass in the framing, so I had trouble taking the pic without getting a reflection. You can see the reflection of the window and the windchimes outside the window near the top rung of the ladder.
It's called Fire Escape, and it represents my feelings about leaving my kids behind when I left my straight marriage. the text on it says "I escaped the burning house only to discover that I had left my children inside"

I think your collage was incredibly innovative and creative and of course, it comes from a flaming gay man, whom I think is incredibly talented. It deserved the accolades and prizes. It was beautiful. Congratulations on a piece of art that what I am sure was cathartic at the least and giving birth at the most. Bravissimo!:applause::applause::applause:

Congrats to you! You should put your collage and the blue ribbon up in a prominent spot!

Keltic,
Loved your collage! Very cool. As an interior designer (how typical!), I can appreciate all kinds of art. I already have a room designed for such an awsome art piece!
Way to go Keltic!
