No.
If the amendment does not pass, NOTHING will change. A NO vote is conservative in this case, as it is the vote that precludes any change. A no vote shall have the effect of retaining the current law which prohibits marriage between persons of the same sex.
There is a state statute passed by the legislature about 10 (maybe 12) years ago (incidentally, pushed by the same group now pushing the marriage amendment again,) which states that ONLY a union of one man and one woman will be recognized as a marriage in the state of AZ.
That law was challenged and the matter brought up to the AZ supreme court, which rejected the challenge and upheld the state statute. That was only a few years ago.
A NO vote changes nothing. A yes vote changes the AZ state constitution.

Folks - our campaign has a very tight budget, and NO overhead. Everyone is working on the campaign for free, including the campaign management. That means every penny donated goes right to direct voter contact :) (in the form of radio ads, brochures for door to door walks, and most importantly - TV commercials.)
We need donations to fund another week of running time for those TV ads.
Please consider making a donation to www.aztogether.org
Also - yes it's true that the most recent polling shows LESS than 50% of likely voters support the amendment (they're at 49%). A few months ago, that number was 57%. Their support has been falling!
Meanwhile, our numbers have gone up from 38% opposed to 42% opposed. 42% is not a majority, but we're getting closer, and 9% are undecided. Do the math. If we persuade that 9%, THEN we would have a win. :)
If you can give anything at all to this campaign, it's a wise investment, since we have a great opportunity to persuade the 9% of voters who are undecided on this issue. We just need to air those TV ads. TV is critical, since our opponents have several million dollars to bankroll as much TV exposure as they want. We need to counter their ads with ours. Please donate if you possibly can: www.aztogether.org
Thank you!

AZ is an unusual state, it is not in the bible belt but rather in the "Old West". You are allowed to walk around with a gun strapped to your side, to give you a visual. The state is one of the most "traditional" states in the US however most of it's citizens consist of transported people so the state has a lot of diversity. I love it for that for that reason. An amendment like this was brought to the voters just two years ago and the voters said "NO". Why it is back on the ballot again is surprising to most of us. Almost all of the Christians that I know are voting yes. I honestly don't see the state accepting gay marriage until enough citizens from more progressive states move here, which happens every day. Especially from California.
I am not supporting "One man one woman" on the AZ constitution.
