Does anyone notice how angry John McCain looks? He looks like he wants to blow up. Everytime he says something nasty, he smiles and bats his eyes....
There is just something about this man....

I agree Christine. He looked nervous, angry, and sometimes seemed confused. Barack Obama on the other hand looked calmer and more in control. I think McCain knew he had to hit a home run tonight in order to bring his poll numbers up and I think that put him on edge.
But I think Obama looked and sounded much more presidential.

The conservative NYTimes writer, commented on McCain on PBS after the debate, saying- and I paraphrase: Does the country want to see this for the next for years?
I laughed out loud because it is so true.
But you know what? If McCain's policies were such that I thought they would really help....well....anger is beside the point.
I want to vote for someone who can get something done, not just engage in political vogueing. And that's how I say McCain tonight. Striking a pose. I felt like he lived down his own legacy. His body language said that he can't believe that he has to stoop to debate new guy on the block. He telegraphs that he's pissed off with the situation. That he wanted to run against Hillary!
Funny how the pundits were crying for Obama to break out and lose it a couple of weeks ago, show anger etc etc. But you know what? Tonight they are saying he has prevailed by virtue of being himself. Being calm. Being constant.

I just saw bits and pieces, but we recorded so probably will watch it this weekend for the heck of it. McCain just seems on edge, tight, nervous, and yes somewhat angry. Maybe anger isn't the word. I can't think of it right now, but something - disconcerted? I'm getting really sick of his stupid looking sneer whenever Obama is talking. And all the crap about terrorist links was asinine to even bother bringing up. Makes it obvious that McCain is desperate and trying to come up with anything to get Obama to lose his cool.
Hasn't worked, didn't work again tonight. When I see the McCain/Pain signs here and there, I have to wonder if those people truly believe these two are the real deal or if they are strictly voting party lines. Heck, even some lifelong Republicans are coming over to the Dem's side over that ticket.

I had to turn it off after Pa Paw started talking about Autism in response to a question about energy policy. I just couldn't take it anymore.
For one thing, McCain kept snorting in derision whenever Obama brought up one of those pesky facts. I worked at a retirement home for a few years and let me tell you, I recognized McCain last night. He's the annoying old man who flies off the handle when somebody disagrees with him about the temperature in the summer of '76. I half expected him to pull his folded up white handkerchief out of his back pocket and wipe his nose.
I also thought it was quite telling that when asked about Palin's competence he talked about how "proud" he is of her and then brought up her husband. Draw your own conclusions, but WOW.
