I hope you will be voting (for those of you in the US) but I was wondering if you are doing anything else on November 4th.
I am going to attend an all day meditation/prayer vigil.

I will have already submitted my absentee ballot and I have to work that day. But I'll be on the edge all day, probably doing some CNN internet checking and have a major loss of focus. Then I'll rush home, probably early and glue myself the to TV until I'm nearly insane. Then most of everything that matters won't be determined until the following day (or 2) so I'll have a horrible time sleeping, finally drift off, forget it's election time until the news comes on. Then I have to go back to work and do it all over again.
I'm thinking of calling in sick Nov. 5th. I'm sure my IBS will be acting up and a headache will no doubt be present. That's about it...

I have volunteered to drive people to the polls who don't have transportation on election day. Then I'm going home and watch the returns until Obama wins which should be around 10:30 Eastern Time.

I’m with tdogg on this, a slightly different take, but along the same lines.
I’ve already secured a neighborhood's supply worth of tv eye glue and am making preparations to lose 3-4 days worth of sleep while wearing a straight jacket in the attempt to minimize damage to myself, and/or...furniture/others.
Upon notice of the Diebold election results -- assuming an election actually takes place -- I will then open a window or door (I live in a ranch style house), and scream at the top of my lungs; “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more!”
At which point I intend to demand health care from every one of my Republican family members by informing them of my acute and chronic psychosomatic condition.
Diebold '08 election results:

On a more pertinent and serious note, Sophia (nervezapper), I believe that prayer can be powerful, that mind can move matter, and that mountains are metaphors.
I’m a bitter soul and I have little prayer to offer, but I would say this, that no matter what, may what is best for all -- Love’s Will -- be done.
Amen.
I now hold my proverbial breath.

It seems that they don't give poll worker's much training on helping disabled people to vote. I'm going to hang out at the poll and see if I can be of help to other disabled voter's. The d*mn diebold machines are hard to reach from a wheelchair unless you know the adjustment to the machine's legs.

...then you might want to check out a neat "How are you feeling today" thing at the New York Times. Type in (once per hour is allowed) one word that describes how you feel during this election day, and see how others feel.
I put in "excited," "nervous," "desperate," and now, "bored." :)
You can also separate it to see how Dems feel vs. Republicans. The Dems look more morose today in general. Maybe we are all just thinking back over the past eight years.
Here is the link and I'll shut up so you can go see it.

I voted early. So I will go to McDonald's at about 10:30 at night to watch the CNN.

From 8pm to midnight I ended up at a nice local bar with some friends watching results coming in on a jumbo TV. There were a bunch of other younger people there too. As more and more results came in the mood got more and more electrified. I didn't think they were even close to calling Florida yet so I went to the bathroom and all of the sudden I heard this roar. It's one of the best feelings of my life!! Obama's speech was awesome! Now, the one thing I am wondering about last night and the election in general is where was the McCain we saw last night during this whole election?

I'm with you on that one, I was amazed.

It was a good concession speech, that's for sure. Said all the right things. Kudoes to him and his speechwriter. A classy way to go out.
And what about Sarah? She was positively beaming. Don't think we've seen the last of her. And even McCain said that she was the new face of the Republican Party.
If so, I think that's a very good thing.
Another nail in the coffin of the religious right.

I sat at home in bed, drifting due to much needed sleep after working the polls all day; and awoke to the roar of the reality that Barack Obama had been projected as the winner..... and so many red states at that.....
I can hardly believe it to be true, that we have come forth in this way to make a statement, as a nation, to a new direction, a new course.....
I haven't been able to stop crying since last night.......:'(

Glued ourselves to our TV -- two of them, actually, on different channels. Helped our 17-year-old son calculate electoral votes. (He's fit to be tied that he couldn't vote; missed it by 11 weeks.) Cried with joy a few times. (Pennsylvania. Virginia. Ohio.) Cried during McCain's concession speech. Cried during Obama's speech. Wished they'd stop showing Oprah in the crowd. Put younger son to bed. Husband commented, "Maybe we can finally fly the flag again!" Watched returns on Prop 8 and got angry and all fired up again (though we live in NY). Practically tap-danced into work this morning. A great day in many respects -- but a looooong way to go in others!

I cried all night too! Obama's acceptance speech was awesome! Me and Oprah cried together! John McCain's speech was wonderful....where was that? If he had spoke more like that he might have won!
I went to the Greensboro Coliseum last night to watch Kay Hagan's victory speech with hundreds of excited Democrats. The energy was incredible! I had to leave early....I was on call. I was actually in a patients living room with their dying grandmother when the Obama announcement was made. Thank goodness they were Obama supporters so I got to cheer a little!
I am now watching an even better speech...George Bush talking about going back to Texas....priceless!
