Here's the game...
1) Pick a simple, common object.
2) List everything that comes to mind, that relates to that object. (on the forum, or just at home)
Do not even worry about the details about the object itself if you don't want to, list the events and situations that come you mind.
It is just interesting what some objects can bring to mind.
Enjoy :)
---------------
Here's what I did:
I chose a #2 standard pencil that you'll see just about anywhere...
My list...
school
business
lawyer
yellow legal pad
dusty workshop and kaleidoscopes >>>
our house in Oregon where there workshop was>>
my dad>>
our dogs>>
being 4>>
If you just do this without thinking to hard about it, it will be interesting to see where you come up from just thinking about a simple object.

Object: My sofa
- the great comedy shows I've seen while sitting on it
- the warm bodies I've cuddled up to on it
- the friends I've laughed with on it
- the warms fires I've read a book by on it
- the beers I've drank on it
- the NASCAR races I've watched on it
- the Christmas movies I've seen on it
- the cats I've petted on it
- the board games I've played on it
- the party guests that have sat on it
- the jack-o-lanterns I've carved on it
- the love I've made on it
- the tears I've cried on it
- the food I've spilled on it
- the remotes I've lost in it

Memory recovery trick.
It is just interesting what some objects can bring to mind. When I was four…
-The itchy green couch my late grandparents used to own (and the fact that they called it a "davenport").
-My blue baseball pajamas
-That big foreboding red leather seat, which no one ever sat in.
-Raggety Ann and Raggety Andy dolls, and the air conditioner stuck in the window cuz they couldn’t get it back out.
-The side door, high hedge, and sitting with the next door neighbor dad talking about their 10 year old dog: “yep, that’s pretty old” I said, “no, not really” he replied.” I was so embarrassed.
-Block magnets and the round tuit (http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x269/Emproph/ROundTuit.jpg?t=1224317408) on the fridge.

Jennifer, I’m glad you brought this up. I recently discovered the same tool in the effort to recover more of my childhood memories.
Focus on an object, and then one thing just leads to another.
It’s an amazing trick, I think we don’t utilize it enough though, because the surface memory is nothing special, or might even be a time we want to forget.
Good reminder though, a very simple key.

You should actually try it with an object too though... I mean, of course just memories are fascinating. With your mind, I'd love to see what you could get from the simplist thing.
It's been a while since I've talked to you... I'll PM or e-mail you...
