I found this quote on a random site where people were discussing the classy robocalls, specifically, one that blamed ACORN for helping poor people get home loans for the record high foreclosures:

"Yep, it's all ACORN's fault. Because it's only black, poor people who can't pay off their mortgage. All the foreclosures are in the inner cities. Everyone else was responsible in their housing purchases. If you believe that, you might be a racist, you're probably a Republican, and you're definitely out of your mind."

I think this quote epitimizes McCain Supporters (notice I have gone away from using the word Republican...this is mostly because I liked Abe Lincoln).

I titled this blogging because I have been using www.soulforce.org as a blog. I suppose I should begin one. If anyone has some helpful hints on doing this, please let me know. Seems a little like Gestault Therapy in cyberspace. I did have a livejournal, but I really like the format of keltic's and matt algren's and I think somebody named vanessa or something has a nice one. Please, pm me or write to me on this thread if you know where I can start a nice blog and begin to get in on the action.

Hey there!

I started on www.blogspot and have recently changed to www.wordpress.com They are both blogging sites and easy to use. They just have different looks and features to them. They are both pretty easy to use and set up.

Good luck! Let us know where you end up so we can read all about it!

I'm a fan of wordpress in general, but not wordpress.com. Some of the smaller details are a bit less than awesome (like the ads that you have to be logged out to see and the insane tagging system that pushes people away from your blog). When I was blogging there, quite a few of the themes were broken, though from what I've heard that's changed lately. Technical support is pretty terrible.

Blogspot.com seems to be the system of choice, though I've never used it. You can monetize your blog there, though from what I understand you have to have a pretty huge and loyal following to make even a couple bucks, and ads are a little obnoxious when bloggers start putting them all over the place. One thing I don't like about Blogspot is that the templates are very generic looking.

My solution was to go to wordpress.org software and host it myself. The hosting costs, but it's not too bad IF you go with shared hosting (I use Dreamhost, which has its own set of problems) and you're willing to commit to it. I'm cheap, and I hate throwing money into a blog that I don't keep up (I really need to get back into the habit of updating my second blog).

One of the biggest pluses is that you can make your blog look however you want and make it do just about anything. There are so many options and people releasing free themes and plugins that the options are nearly endless. Learning and messing around with the code are complicated but fun as long as you don't accidentally break something.

Not that I've ever done that...
