View Full Version : McCain Supporter ruins childrens Halloween!

I swear, only in Michigan can a person be so cruel and callous. A lady in an affluent Detroit neighborhood refused to give out treats on Halloween to anyone who has parents who are voting for Obama. She gave out candy only to those with McCain voting parents. Apparently she asked each child, and actually refused them at the door, if they answered that their parents were voting for Obama. Many children left there crying or in tears. She later told reporters that "everyone has a choice" like that really explained why she was such a nasty old witch. The neighbors only said "well, we can't control her". This lady stated "no handouts for Obama or his supporters".
I don't know about you, but it would seem to me that if people like that are voting for McCain, it would be enough to prevent them from voting for him! I am sure he would be very unhappy that someone would go to these lengths to get others to vote for the cause. What a rotten excuse for a human being. Any other comments? :'(

I think this is the reason that the "trick" part of trick or treating was invented. Not that I condone vandalism or anything. Just sayin'.

I think I would make an exception for this case! TP is pretty non harmfull, and it washes away with the rain. I would be a bit more classy though, I would nail one of those wicked flying witches up, the ones that look like they flew into something and only the feet, legs and back half of broom is showing, to her McCain sign......:lol:

Print it up on 8 1/2 x 11, and have some of these refused kids spread it around the neighborhood. Or perhaps there is a more subtle method.
Jesus preached love and forgiveness. He also threw the money changers out of the temple. Let your conscience be your guide.

I think a few dozen eggs on her house would look good.

There is never any excuse for rudeness. You can disagree with people and confront them, but even in confrontational situations I don't feel it is ever acceptable to be rude or mean.
It is especially unacceptable in my opinion to be rude to children or mean to animals.
In my exprience I have found the rudest people to be fundamentalist Christians. They think they have a God-given right to be rude because they are on God's side. Of course if this lady had been a fundamentalist, wouldn't she have refused to give out anything because Halloween is such an "evil holiday".
I would like to add soaping-the-windows-of-her-vehicles to the eggs and toilet paper.

I know this woman makes you all angry. She is being a crazy old B-word. However, I thought this was Soulforce. The example of non-violent protest. Is vandalism non-violent? I'm just asking. We know other people read this site. Okay, I'll be quiet now.

Where did we hear this story and can we be sure it isn't a new urban legend?
And true or not, the irony behind this story is that IF it's true, picture me last Friday night: all dressed up in costume, lighted pumpkins all over the front porch, the walkway all swept free of leaves and pebbles, and 3 bags of candy on a table by the front door. By 9pm, I'm sitting there in tears because while Trick or Treaters have been out for hours, our doorbell only rang once (and I'm so glad it did ring once!)
While I sat there in tears with three bags of candy I still don't know what to do with, my husband kissed me and tried to cheer me up with a little joke. He said, "Well, maybe the neighbors saw our Obama sign in the yard and they don't want their kids to get Democratic candy."

Oh sorry Zerbie! I hope that is not the reason for it. People are very cruel. And yes, the story is true, it happened in Detroit. Our stations covered it and interviewed the woman. I could not believe it myself. One of the news anchors said she needed to be egged, and I don't know how that got through the filters, but it did!
Any consolation, I cried my heart out about CA and AZ. Ellie is besides herself with not knowing what to do about me being so upset. Now, I am just really angry.

Well, I guess we can aspire to all that, but personally, when it pertains to children, I don't think that a little vandilism is all that violent! Now, punching in the face, that's different.(but oh so satisfying in another more violent way)You don't have to be quiet now, either.;)

Honestly, it is messed up what the lady did but she is obviously crazy, and if anything at all can be 'good' about what she did it would probably be that she actually shed a bad light for support of McCain if she conveyed anything at all. LOL I wouldn't worry about symbolic egging of her house by people on the forum, those little kids will be older in a few years and of the age where kids do zany things, and I'm pretty sure who's house they'll be TP'ing?

Unfortunately, if you want to make an omelet, you have to break a few eggs. :D

Unmasked, that sounds good. Especially right now, because I've been on this nifty little mainly vegan diet for the last 2 days. I would love anything with cheese. Oozy, goozy, melty cheddar cheese. I wonder how many days to for my stomach to get used to eating brown rice and veggies???

I'm horrible at cooking. Let's throw my oozy, gooey, cheesy, burned omelets at her house. :D
