Since Tuesday, the controversy over Obama has definitely heightened. Personally, I have seen many of my "friends" show their true colors. One person said "maybe we'll get lucky and some redneck will take care of him before his inauguration in January." Another told a joke in very bad taste that ended with Obama dying. I've heard outrageous stories about white supremicists wanting Obama to win so that there would be a racial uproar.

I guess the reality that there are still people in the world who care about these things is hard to accept for me. Am I the only one who thinks this is absolute craziness?!

No! For someone to say that they hope the president of the United States is assassinated is a sign of emotional instability.

in spite of failing to speak up in the teacher's lounge a few days ago when a very racist comment was made, I've evidently made it clear to most people that I don't appreciate those kinds of comments. I've received only 2 text messages that could vaguely be considered racist, and one of them, was more observational and humorous than racist. My husband, on the other hand, has received some really offensive text messages from some of his co-workers. I know a handful of those co-workers, and they knew better than to send them to me. My husband was surprised that they forwarded them to him, because he's told them about using the N word around him.
