Zerbie,
It's good to have some rules posted. Otherwise I think things will get out of hand pretty darn quickly, as I stated in another post.
When we went to Pride here last year, we had demonstrators there that were following people about and yelling right in their faces how they were going to hell etc.....the people stood and argued back. Sadly this made things even worse for us at Pride because they were looking for a confrontation or else why would they have apporached in such a manner? It prolonged the confrontation when it would have been so much simpler to ignore and walk away, to not engage them at all.
They tried it with Ellie and I but we just walked around them and kept going on our way. They then honed in on the next couple who fought with them. When a wiseman and a fool argue, no one can tell the difference.

Zerbie,
Thanks for posting these suggestions for demonstrators. It's all good advice.
Except for the one that says, "Do not raise your voice". Yeah, right. That'll happen.
I don't know how young people protest today, but back in my day we raised our voices. And that's exactly what I plan to do in Greensboro on Saturday.
I been fighting this fight for too damn long, and a lit candle does not express how I feel.

I believe the comment about raised voice was referring to a context of face to face discussion with an opponent.
If those not involved see us screaming at someone, they'll think WE are the source of the problem.
