and because prop 8 passed, my teacher did not teach us about gay marriage, but about the inner workings of what caused this dehumanizing prop to pass. Yep, sexuality was written on the chalk board and underlined furiously and a discussion about being a woman, a black, or a gay was under way. Thank you prop 8 supporters for unleashing a beast raging for civil rights- the LGBT community couldn't bring the issue of human rights to the schools any better than the good ol' case of religious oppression and dehumanization!

Wow, I just was saying to my husband that if it wasn't taught yet, it would certainly be taught now.
I am curious if they could even go further with their definition of marriage to include race along with gender.
