From the Charlie Howard Foundation:
(Charlie Howard was a young man who was thrown from a bridge to his death in Bangor, Maine. He was the victim of a savage hate crime. He was gay.)
We at the Charlie Howard Memorial Foundation find ourselves in a bit of a financial bind. The memorial is now in place by the Kenduskeag Stream in Bangor, and the Bridge Alliance will do plantings in the spring. The monument will be dedicated on July 7, 2009 in the evening as part of the 25th anniversary events.
However, much to my suprise, the installation costs along with the costs for a slightly larger bowl amount to $3611.88. I've paid the last $400 available from the Charlie Howard Memorial Foundation account, and we now find ourselves with a bill of $3211.88. I'll negotiate with Rogan's Memorials about a payment scheme, but would surely appreciate any tax-deductible contributions anyone might make.
