Last night, Jon Stewart had the former candidate for President- Mike Huckabee- on and they talked about gay marriage.

Argued Stewart to Mike Huckabee: "Religion is far more of a choice than homosexuality. We protection religion - and talk about a lifestyle choice - that is absolutely a choice. Gay people don't choose to be gay. At what point did you choose not to be gay? ... I think it's a travesty that people have forced someone who is gay to have to make their case."

Religion as a choice? Now there's something I can believe in!

Well, Stewart seemed to do a good job at keeping Huck on the wall. He came back with a legitimate argument to all of Huck's stump arguments. I do have to give it to Huck for hanging in there, he did do a good job.

I especially liked the point that Stewart made about how marriage HAS been redefined over the centuries. My favorite was, as some of you have stated, that Christianity is a TRUE CHOICE. There is no argument against that or any scientific evidence to say any different. You may be able to argue that homosexuality is a choice, but there is still evidence out there that it isn't. There is NO evidence out there that someone is "born a Christian". But they receive more protection than almost any class out there. They get all of these protections because the "chose to be a Christian", but we can get none. Even if we chose to be gay, what is the difference between that and choosing to be a Christian or whatever religion one chooses to follow? NONE I would have to say!

Peace,
Scott

Try FUTURE Republican candidate for president. Stewart did very well and kept Huckabee jumping but I have to say that Huckabee ALSO did very well. He does the comedy "Fake News" shows about as well as any conservative out there. He manages to stay calm, laughs at himself, and always seems at ease with the host. I can imagine Huckabee being a real contender the next time around either in '12 or in '16.

I also had the sense that Stewart respects Huckabee even if he totally disagrees with him. How can I tell? He only continues an interview after the commercial break with guests that he considers worthy (my observation over time) Watch Huckabee. We haven't seen the last of him yet.
