Friends,

Here's the link:

Richard Cizik has been an outspoken Evangelical voice in Washington D.C. He'd already ruffled feathers among right-wingers by pushing for action against global-warming. When he came out for a less-than-hardline position on Civil Unions, he got the boot.

I hope we can reach out to him and that he continues to be a voice for moderate and left-leaning Evangelicals.

Friends,

Reach out to him? Certainly.

After reading the article, it seems that he doesn't know what his own hands/mouth are doing, saying one thing and then signing on to that heinous full-page ad in the NYTImes which I saw.

Makes me observe that 'groupthink' is a very real phenomena.

Well, I think he might just backtrack and recant the whole thing. If he has been fired, it comes down to what the checkbook thinks. If it hurts him financially to come out for civil unions, it would be more comfortable for him to recant, say he was misguided or whatever and all will be well. Meanwhile, the pendulum continues to swing in our favor.
