I didn't know houses had sexual orientations...Rick Warren believes that gay people are gripped by sin, but houses...they can be gay or straight. I'm sure you are all way more familiar than you would like to be on his recent comments about gay people, but I like Dan Savage (http://slog.thestranger.com/slog/archives/2008/12/17/so_many_anti_gay_bigots_so_ma), want to know who is gay and considers Rick Warren their friend. I'd like to know where these gay houses are. Rick Warren, you have said that I am no better than a child molestor. You are not welcome in my house until you apologize. And I don't know of anyone who is part of the GLBT community that would invite you to their house as a "friend." If these people exist, we need to have a press conference with these so-called gay friends. Call Sarah Palin and get her "gay" friend over here too. I want to talk to these people. Bring the Loch Ness monster with you. And I'll take some ocean front property in Arizona while we're at it!
:rolleyes:;):):confused::o:(:mad:

Gay houses? Makes about as much sense as gay dogs or cats. I am convinced that many homophobes have gay friends, but only because the gay friends entertain them or do something for them. They are not genuinely loved. Its a sort of arms length toleration. Y'know?

i'd consider inviting Warren into our home, so he could see how blessed & boring our 'gay house' really is, and how much we do not in any way match the negative mis-characterizations of lgbt people that are so prevalent among fundgelicals.

Of course, i might also have to train our dog to pee & barf on command just for his visit. :D :eek::lol: "Oh, i'm so sorry that Flapjack ruined your outfit...something must have unexpectedly turned his stomach..." :rolleyes::poke:

Pretty gay over here. After all, we did just don our gay apparel!:lol::lol::lol:

I can only liken this theory of gay houses to a story my friend, whom is very strict Roman Catholic(and actually pretty accepting of me and my wife). When she was first married, she had found that her hubby had hidden his Playboy in the closet for his pleasure when she wasn't there. Well, she had her Priest come and bless the house with holy water, after throwing the Playboys away, to remove any evil spirits and demons from her home. She said that porn brought demons into your home. I told her that stuff like that may bring demons to her marriage, but a house is inantimate. Never did get that whole thing :confused::confused::confused:

I wonder if he is referring to generational curses when he says houses? I couldn't find anything on it. Do you have a source, sauu4equality? Not that I agree, but I've heard this sort of teaching in regard to besetting sins and so on.

Matt Algren has it on his blog (http://blog.mattalgren.com/2008/12/homophobic-bigot-to-give-invocation-at-president-obamas-inauguration/). He wasn't actually identifying the houses as gay (the quote is "...I've eaten dinnner in gay homes."). It is at the very end of the interview. I just thought it was weird and a little offensive for him to say that, so I used it as a title to this thread. If you have dinner at a man and a woman's house (that are married or together romantically) do you call it a straight home?

During the interview, he also references that for the last 5k years, marriage has been defined in the same way across all cultures and across all religions.

Seriously?!?! And your a bible scholar? Because those dudes in the OT had LOTS of wives. A hundred years ago, the Mormons supports poligamy. Currently, some people groups in Africa have multiple wives.

Sigh...
