I've been checking back in recently, especially the Anti-GLBT watch...and I wonder if someone's been keeping up with it, at least where the Catholic Church is concerned. Pope Benedict XVI recently reconciled the RCC with four previously-excommunicated bishops of the ultra-right-wing Priestly Society of St. Pius X. One of those bishops is an anti-GLBT individual who compared being gay to...
(...everyone forgive me if I offend your sensitivities, here, but this is what he said...)
...coprophage. (If you don't know it, look it up. Just make sure that you have a stomach of steel if you do so. And I guarantee that knowing it won't add one ounce of happiness to your life.)
This same lovely bishop is also a Holocaust denier. (Why, oh why, am I *not* surprised?)
The reason that I raise this indelicate fact is I wanted to find out why this rather disgusting turn of events is not already posted on the Anti-GLBT Watch? Towleroad didn't miss it; I'm surprised that Soulforce seems to have overlooked it. It seems to me (...although my memory is admittedly vaguer, here...) that several nasty remarks coming out of the Vatican were also missed. Is there anyone that I can send notices to, to help Soulforce stay informed? Granted, this isn't exactly a nice subject, but sometimes it is important to know things that one would rather not know, in order to understand the world around you.

Come to think of it...
...why doesn't the Anti-GLBT Watch portion of this site also have some tracking of the Latter-Day Saint (LDS, also called "Mormons,") Church?
Just a thought.

I saw the same news about the Vatican at Towleroad but didn't post it here- got taken up the Haggard news, I am sorry to say. I did, however, post about Fr. Barrow, a Catholic priest who is being prevented from earning a living. Very sad that.
Not sure if there is 'someone' who is delegated to track matters here on the forum. However, it's great that you've brought this to mind.
Welcome back!

That accuse ALL gay men of this sort of behavior, and on a daily basis. (And they call US perverts!?!?)
I guess when someone feels that bad about themselves, they really need to find someone, anyone to project their bad feelings onto.
Pray for them, and try to stay to stay out of their way.
Peace and Love, Bruce Chris

Daniel and Bruce,
Thanks for the replies!
Daniel, I don't know if I did a good job of communicating this, but I wasn't thinking of posting on the forums; I was thinking more of extending the Anti-GLBT Watch list. Still, maybe tracking on the forums (either by itself, or along with the Anti-GLBT Watch) isn't a bad idea. (Oh, and thanks for saying, "Welcome back!")
Bruce, your point about others not being able to handle their feelings is a great one. And I *will* try to stay out of their way!
Peace and love back atcha...both.

I get emails on my other sites about such things. I'm not surprised . It's one of the reasons I have chosen to reply to condemning and anti-lgbt statements. Many of the lgbt deaths are transgender people of color, of which I am both.

I looked up the meaning of coprophage. It's no wonder why many lgbt people reject the church and the bible. Shameful coming from a 'religious person'.

I'm so sorry to hear that.
