Fascinating.

Definitely academic, this lecture is a bit lengthy, but fascinating.
In essence, a history of homosexuality in various societies throughout history. At one point, the lecturer calls anti-homosexual persecution in the western christian society an 'anomaly' in world history.

Discusses myth, Judeo Christian religion, problems of Old Testament translation, and more.

Halfway through, audience members ask questions, which brings out some interesting discussion and speculation.

Hey Zerbie, is their a hard copy of his lecture somewhere? Or is it just the book? I would love to be able to follow along and take notes, but the copy of the movie isn't very good (at least not on my computer). I've only watched the first few minutes but I absolutely love it!

YES there's a book! I've owned it for a couple years, and am finally starting to read it cover to cover. I much prefer the book to the lecture, for some reason, except of course for the lack of a Q&A section which naturally books don't have. Best part of the lecture, the Q&A comes towards the end, if you can get the video to play. It kept stopping and starting when I viewed it.

The book is called Homosexuality and Civilization. Author is lecturer Louis Crompton. You can easily find it online. I found my copy at a local Borders.
