And I'm not technically in the South - I'm in the Sunshine State!

Hi y'all! My name is Kri (pronounced "Cree"), and I am from Melbourne, FL. I am very excited to join the Soulforce forum. I just recently re-joined the church scene, and though my new friends are very welcoming and warm, they DO NOT understand the GLBT community at all. I actually considered getting help for it - until I realized that I don't have a problem. My sexuality is a part of who I am. I mean, God's sending me to Haiti on a mission trip - ME, as I am, regardless of my bisexuality and regardless as my past. If God didn't want me to go to Haiti because I was a sinner, if He didn't want me to represent the GLBT community within my church, he wouldn't have picked me. I want to be one of His proud examples of a loving child of God, and I praise Him for that beautiful opportunity. I want to be a voice for the voiceless; I want to stand up for what I believe in and for what I am. Now I want to connect with others in similar positions as me so that I can lift up others and be lifted up as well.

So, thank you, Soulforce, for all you do, for creating an outlet for people like me. Thank you, readers, for welcoming me to this community. I hope to hear from you often, as this certainly won't be the last of me. :p

God Bless Y'all,
Kri

Haiti has one of the strongest Episcopal Dioceses in the Episcopal Church, in case you were interested. Welcome to Soulforce! You seem like a spectacular individual.

Grace and Peace.

I just did some research and found that Haitians are 80% Roman Catholic. Do they really need my church to come down there and spread the word of Jesus? I may be a tad bit confused, but it looks like they already have a religion.
