Max, because that's my chosen name. It's not the one I was born with, but the one I have baptized myself with after years of traveling down the road I find myself on. I am a TG genderqueer (i.e. born female) and have no problem with anyone else's sexuality as long as they do not try and impart their beliefs upon me. My journey is my own, as I realize that no two of us are the same, no two stories are the same and no two genders are the same.
I am a 47 year-old disabled HIV/AIDS social worker, forced into early retirement at the age of 44 due to the missed diagnosis of a broken foot. Needless to say, I do not have many good things to say about the quality of health care in these United States. I have CRPS in both feet and am on morphine and vicodin for the rest of my life. These are not "happy drugs" for me, but it sure beats the methadone I was on for 2 years. My partner is the best thing that ever happened to me and I hope to be with her for the rest of my life here on earth. The smell and sound of leather makes me smile, puppy kisses are hard to beat, and, being just a Cajun boi at heart, my mama's round steak, rice and gravy is the best food on the planet. (BAM THAT, Emeril !!)
I hope to make some new friends on the list and share in some sharp, intellectual discussions. Here's hoping that all your dreams are wet ones, too.
