I have seen this movie twice and wept like a baby each time I saw this; I feel so strongly we need to come together as a movement for change...just wondered if anybody else has seen the movie and wonder what you thought of it?

Finally saw it last night. I loved it! It's a shame we lost Harvey so soon; he was truly a pioneer in the lgbt rights movement, and I wonder how much more he could have affected change had he lived. We need many more like him! What was most striking was his emphasis on the importance of coming out and fighting back (not violently).
All in all an excellent movie, and very touching indeed. I rank "Milk" right up there with "The Laramie Project" and "Prayers for Bobby" as absolute must-sees for anyone who is grappling with lgbt issues.

But I know a bunch of people who have and they say it's great. I can't really afford to pay full admission prices, so I'm waiting for the movie to get to the second-run theatre. I'm looking forward to it.
When I took Sociology in 1990, the Prof showed us a documentary about Harvey Milk, and I was blown away. There's an old saying about how if you're the female candidate, you have to be twice as good as the men. I guess if you're the gay candidate, you have to be 4 times as good. Milk must have been some awesome city councillor.

It's on DVD already. Got mine in the mail. Cheaper than the price of 2 movie tickets. You might be able to rent in at a video store or on iTunes.
Great movie, Milk! Everyone should see it. We need Harvey back (or a reincarnation, or possibly a 'new' Harvey - any takers?)!!

I bought the movie. It was very good. It takes people like him to get things done. And you really have to give Sean Penn a lot of credit for playing the part and playing it as well as he did. Sean isn't gay, but he had no problem playing the part. He is a human rights activist, himself, kind of like the person he was playing.
