Read your story and and am glad you were able to share. One main thing is that you were there for your friend when he died. This is very important for us of the GLBTs to continue to support those who die from AIDS, that they don't die alone. And as a Christian GLBT that they know God loves them and will take care of them when they do die. I feel that the toy your mom gave you was a very important reminder that she does love you with all she can in her heart. My mom passed away 10 days after 9/11. I never told her I was gay, but I know in my heart she loves me unconditionally.

First of all, welcome to Soulforce. I read your story and was really moved. It was wonderful that you were with your friends when he died from AIDS. You have a caring and loving heart for those people cast aside.

I an so glad to hear that you made it through being doubly rejected. i'm afraid I will be going through that rejection myself - if I come out as a pastor i will be removed from the clergy roster and thus have no job, no calling, no home. Your story touched my heart. Thanks for sharing.
