Here's an opportunity for everyone who's been wanting to get involved in one of our campaigns. Soulforce has written, called, and initiated a meeting with the Vatican's Ambassador to the United Nations, asking them to sign the recent nonbinding Declaration to Decriminalize Homosexuality.

In April, we will have a direct action in New York City, and in various cities around the country. Please take some time to go back to our home page and read about the exciting plans for helping to challenge the Vatican to support the safety of all God's children.

Not sure how many folks here are from NY, but we sure could use you in New York City in April to help the Vatican understand the sacred worth of all God's children.

Wore a rainbow sash* to church, and was refused communion. (He did this on purpose, to protest something that the Catholic church was doing at the time) His organization offices at my church sometimes, but he is not a UCC'er, he is a Catholic.

EDIT: Somehow, I don't think he would ever get office space in their building.

I'll be in NY for work, but not until May. Otherwise, I would be there!

Kara, any kind of response so far in general?

We're still in dialogue with the Ambassador's office, at this point. We've had a meeting with his assistant, but nothing worthwhile to report.

REfusing people communion is a sin. Communion isn't about who WE are our worthiness. If it was noone would ever get it. It's about God reaching toward us.

Yes - Redneck Dyke is absolutely right - it is a sin to refuse communion to anyone!! It is not about how we are, it's about who He is and what He came for - All of us.
