Madison Reed has lived and traveled in many different places all over the planet, and experienced many cultures.* Blogging is a new love of his.* His blog, "Lotus Opening (http://blog.lotusopening.com)," is devoted to news and information about Enlightenment and the inevitable rise of what he refers to as Enlightened Capitalism.* For more than 2 years he has served as editor for Topix.com's news for Huntington, WV (http://www.topix.com/city/huntington-wv), Belize (http://www.topix.com/world/belize), Belarus (http://www.topix.com/world/belarus) and the Baha'i World Faith (http://www.topix.com/religion/bahai-world-faith).
About the prospects for an enlightened future civilization, Reed says,
"Over the course of my life and study of the world's religions, people, human hearts, diverse languages, I've concluded that humanity is heading in a good direction.* In fact, I believe we're moving rapidly toward Enlightenment. What's in store for us in the future, will make everything now look dull.
Despite his conviction that humans are intrinsically good, as a homosexual man, he's had his fill of bigotry and its life quenching effects.
Madison's love partner lives abroad.* Because they're a same-sex binational couple they are forced to live in to two separate countries (http://imeq.us/our_stories/stories/files/tag-belarus.html).* They've been living apart for 5 years now, because U.S. federal immigration laws discriminate against Gay or Lesbian Americans who have foreign partners.* Madison and other Gay and Lesbian Americans like him who have foreign-born partners, cannot sponsor their spouses or partners to come live with them in the United States, so many of them just give up, or leave their homelands to set up residence in a third country that has embraced equality.
Please support legislation to solve the nightmare that an estimated 36,000 Gay and Lesbian Americans face each and every day as they live separately from their loved one, or as love exiles in third countries.* This is intolerable and needs to come to an end now.
Support passage of the the Uniting American Families Act, a bill before Congress to repair the glitch in U.S. immigration law that keeps Gay and Lesbian families apart.* President Obama is urged to issue a Presidential Executive Order immediately, to force the UAFA into law, and end the suffering of binational couples.* Please take the time to learn about the UAFA, and find out how you can help get it passed.
Two excellent places to start would be Out4Immigration or Marriage Equality USA.
