I'm incredibly surprised that the screen name "DiscoInferno" was still available! That is because this 1978 disco song, on the "Saturday Night Fever" album, perfectly epitomizes the "burning in the soul" that results when relentless sexual passions are continually suppressed and resisted.

I was just approaching the critical point in Mel White's "Stranger At The Gate", Chapter 7, resting in bed. At this point, it was so enthralling, after having read many chapters of "background and foundation" leading up to this key moment, that I just had to get up. I wanted to be playing the song "Disco Inferno" while reading up to and beyond the point "Whatever it might cost me, I couldn't resist anymore." This I recognized, from similar first-hand experience, as being that "bright red line" of No Return! Then I read up to the point where Mel White was about to commit stealth suicide while scuba diving -- and I scribbled in that all-too-familiar notation "Imminent Threat of Irreparable Harm" in the margin.

Just then, C.N.N.'s "Anderson Cooper" was airing a LIVE interview with Mel White! The timing is so unlikely to be coincidence that I feel the hand of God at work.

Fortunately, "Anderson Cooper" repeats, so I caught all of the interview an hour later. I caught the good breaking news, that Earl Warren now denies ever having supported California's Proposition 8, or ever being an anti-gay crusader. And I took note that Mel White was the founder of SoulForce. Once this repeat was over, then I registered with SoulForce.

I'm already registered and active with http://www.gaychristian.net, (under the same screen name), where I have many essay posts - especially in response to the almost simultaneous media events of the cable LifeTime movie "Prayers For Bobby," plus the re-emergence of Ted Haggard and his interviews with Oprah Winfrey and Larry King.

Since I am single, I also have a profile posted at http://christiangays.com/osdate/showprofile.php?id=1386
This one is also under the same screen name, DiscoInferno!

It is eerie that Mel White's critical point was almost the same as my own, during the "DiscoMania" era of 1977-1979. Mel White didn't mention this, but I wonder, did the cultural milieu of this period have anything to do with him finally hitting "critical mass?" The movie "Prayers For Bobby" was also set during this same time period. In that case, even the name is the same as mine: Bob. Spooky!

Welcome to SF, Bob. I remember 1977-1979 very well. Two years earlier I was in San Diego visiting friends. God's hand was certainly in all of this. Praise Him!
