Are you sure that you really want to post all of that personal information? Jackson, Ohio, Pop. 6,000? You are young, and brave and/or foolish. Just how out are you? I would get rid of that street address, at least.

Well, I'm a bit of an old fart, and a straight one at that, but definitely a proud member of the gay community. And I've been harassed, because some people thought that I might be gay. And, in Minneapolis, which is a pretty mellow town.

To find out about the gay community, and it's people and traditions, first you have to find it. This is most easily done in larger cities, where the gay community can make a place for itself, and it's not too hard to find. It looks like your best bet might be Columbus, about 60 miles north, but I'm sure you've been there. Or maybe Cincinnati. You could Google, or just use a phone book, and track down gay and lesbian organizations there. This would help you, on a more person to person basis.

On an internet level, I think you've found a great place to start. We've got lots of active women members here. You can tell how active, by the number of postings they have. Kara Spartz is a moderator, and there are many others. I'll sign off here, and go take a look at your art.

And Marc: Of course we recruit, we just don't recruit STR8 people! DV8's like Tina are O.K. And the fundies tend to confuse the two.

Recruit in the *Traditional* meaning, for them to become gay

Peace and Love, Bruce Chris

I do believe that straight people should be just as welcome here as gay people and even allowed to voice their opinions so long as they are not being abusive...To me the church should welcome all as Jesus did and a lot of straight people are fighting for our (gays) cause...But, I dont make the rules. God does.

Yes, we have our lulls... but things do pick up from time to time. Start a interesting thread, sometimes that's all it takes to get the crowd back.

I think there was a misunderstanding, straight people are very welcome here (so long as they are not rude). In fact, we have a lot of them. :)
