Hello, my name is Marco Siino.
Since January, we built up the christian lesbian and gay group Ali d'Aquila here in the town where I was born and still live, Palermo http://www.alidaquilapmo.altervista.org/portale/ in Sicily, Southern Italy, Europe.

We're organizing on Sunday May 17th the ecumenical pray for homophobia victims (you know they're organized through Europe, I don't know if in America christian lesbians and gays take part to this ecumenical day against homophobia).

I shortly took part to two different tryes to build up a christian G-L group here in my town in 1998 and 2005.

I attend a Roman-catholic base-community church,
and attended for so many years the ecumenical movement first in SAE (the main italian ecumenical movement), then also in MIR (your IFOR).
I approached nonviolence with my conscience-objection to military compulsory service. I matured this choice since teen-years, and so I was civilian servent (here in Italy called conscience-objectors for this reason) in 1999. I took part as first to LOC (italian league of conscientious objectors) and MN (WRI), but most of all in MIR (IFOR). Even if not paying my quote all the years (sometimes I forget) I feel part of MIR-IFOR and ecumenical nonviolent movement, I liked very much IFOR's work in Colombia. The whole italian section of MIR took part to the Rete di Lilliput, a nonviolent grassroot network here in Italy, since 2002 to 2008.

So... ecumenism + being gay + nonviolence >>> browsing sometime Soulforce has been interesting for me :-)
Greetings
Peace strength joy!
Marco
