I am new to Soulforce as of yesterday, but not new to being gay and Christian in America and struggling within my church to fit in. You see, I was raised Penecostal. And I go to a Foursquare church which is pretty much the same denomination. I have done the whole bit about trying to not be myself abd deny that I am gay and that God must have made a mistake. But after almost 38 yrs of struggling and after reading Mel White's book, To Be Gay and Christian in America, that book changed the way I view myself and the way God lokks at me. He didn't make a mistake when he made myself or any of my gay brother's and sister's out there. It's nice to see a website dedicated to gay and lesbain community for freedom and trying to teach other christians out there that we too are God's children just as much as they are and that we do not need to be changed, that we are as God made us!!!!! God Bless to all out there!!!!

Hi Andi - I am glad that you read Mel White's words and I am glad that you realize that God did not make a mistake when He made you - you are great just the way He made you.
Peace from a lesbian sister

And one of the largest MCC churches, in Texas, recently became a United Church of Christ, a far more liberal denomination. And one that endorsed gay marriage nationally, recently, although some of the member churches dissented.
I think that every person needs to find a church that they can believe in. And one that believe's in them.
Peace and Love, Bruce Chris

Thank you for your message Bruce. It is very encouraging words for me at a time when I am struggling to leave a chruch i know I should and find a church that accepts me for who I am. I truly needed to hear those words this morning. Thank you and God Bless.

Welcome to the group, Andi. I loved your introduction. I'm so happy that you realize that God didn't make a mistake. From a transgender sister I pray that you will find a place where you will be comfortable.
