I am a member of an Evangelical Lutheran Church, which is about to vote on approval for same sex partnerships. I have never been judgemental abouts same sex relationships until I became a Christian about 4 years ago. For the last two days, I have been praying whether or not to support this resolution since a common thread in the church has been that the Bible does not support same sex relationships. In my research, I came upon the Soulforce website article by Rev Mel White, and after readings Romans 2, I believe that the ELCA is right to open its doors to people who have same sex relationships. Who am I or anyone else to judge and deny people God and Jesus Christ.

I just needed to express my support and give thanks to the Rev White for opening my eyes to what the Bible says and allowing me to follow a natural inclination. This subject has been bothering me for years and now I have found my answer. Good Luck in your quest to find equality.

Thanks for your support, Donna, I/we appreciate it.

I feel bad that this has been bothering you so long. I'm sure there are many who still feel that way, and so much of it is just politics.

Feel free to ask questions, there's a wealth of information to be had here. Most of the regulars are patient and more than willing to enlighten, share and learn.

Hope to see you around.

Welcome to Soulforce, Donna. I'm pleased that you have chosen to support same sex marriage. It's amazing when we pray how God can open our minds and hearts.

thank you so much for writing about your experience - i am a delegate to the ELCA national assembly and hear mostly negative. i am just starting to come out, but of course not in my town, my congregation. it is good to hear positive about the sexuality statement. turquoise:confused:
