I was not taught to hate but strongly discrouraged from befriending anyone of questionable morals. It was ok to be kind and nice but don't get too close I was told time and time again. Afterall, the famous saying in our house was you become who your friends are. In some ways that's true but not regarding being Gay. It doesn't just rub off or something. You either are or your not attracted to the same sex. It's pretty straight forward.
I came across this article on Connexion and it breaks my heart that Independent Baptist Churches teach this stuff. To interject here, not all Independent Fundamental Baptist churches are like this but it does give a generally negative spin on them. This Steven Anderson guy is very ill informed and I feel for him even though he's so blatent in his hatred.
