hi i'm amber from twin falls idaho also called taterville by me and my friends. i am a lesbian and am 19 but will be 20 literally tomarrow. i live currently with my parents:tdown:, but plan on moving to boise here soon. my parents are very religious and antihomo which is what first prompted me to come to this site i was doing research and desperatly gatherin evedence that my sexuality was not a choice, sickness or sin..... my biggest passion are activism for the glbt community and theatre and when i get to use both its great.... i am a theatre major at my home town community college and am eventually going to transfer to bsu under the same major... other that that i'm a laid back person some people don't like me because i can be very sarcastic and at times have a hot temper i'm one of those people that is sadly misunderstood..at times anyway.

We hear stories like yours SO often here. I have never heard anyone say that their sexual orientation is a choice, although it often changes over one's lifetime.
Please read any and all of the resources from this website, and any others that you may find. In Boise there may be a chapter of PFLAG, the Parents, Friends and Family of Lesbians and Gays,(www.pflag.org) or other gay organizations.
It's nice that you know who you are, but it can be extreemly helpful, necessary really, to meet others like yourself, to really understand who you are. You are born the way you are, and I think that that is the way God made you, and well, us. You are not a sickness, or a sin. You can come back here as often as you like, and chat with the members. Warning, summer can be a bit slow.
I hope that you get a lot of responses here. Bruce Chris

Sexuality is a very fluid thing, although I believe that as you age, you figure out exactly what type of person your attracted to. For those of us that tried to be in a hetero marraige, you will find there are many of us, we can testify first hand to the fact it is not a choice. Also, the pure joy and sense of fufillment you get when you fianlly get with the sex your actually attracted to.
Welcome to SOulforce, and checl out for a PFLAG in your area. They may have some very helpful phamplets and such for you to help you on your journey.
Peace

I used to live in good ol' twin falls, Idaho - I was the worship pastor for Calvary Chapel out on Falls Ave - not the CC down town. I think they are called something different now.
Take a look at www.lesbepure.com and see if we can be an encouragement to you and a resource for your parents.

Hi there! I wish you the best of luck with your parents. Some do come around with time. Be hopeful. I can relate to your quandary of being misunderstood. People have told me I'm weird. I prefer "special!"
