Here's an official "Thank You" to Daniel for his hospitality while I visited NYC on Saturday!

Daniel is tall and handsome and charming and quite the host. His husband is his only rival for the same description!

They showed me a wonderful time on Saturday. They have a beautiful place and a great back yard.

Thanks, gentlemen. I'm making plans to come back!

Hey, that sounds awesome! Glad you had a terrific visit Keltic, sounds like it was fun.

Hmm. NYC and the phrase "great back yard" have never gone together in my mind.

That's great! People on the forums and their families getting to meet in person! Or did you know each other previously?

I'm excited about some of us meeting for the first time in Colorado Springs. :)

I agree with Jamie. We have talked on threads before about how some of us imagine being in a room physically with one another, talking and interacting and sharing. I hope to do that with many of you someday. Keltic, I am so glad you had such an awesome trip and Daniel for being such a gracious host. Keep sharing.... Vanessa

we met here in the soulforce forums. met face to face for the first time this past saturday. it was a great experience. and while we'd never actually met previously, it did indeed feel like we had been friends for a long time.

Yes. We met here on the forum and clicked- as they say. Meeting in person only confirmed that connection.

What did we do besides tool around the City - and see great art at the Metropolitan Museum? We did what friends do: we shared our lives with each other, each giving the other 'space'- as it were- to be who we are. It may be that I think of this because we're both not young pups anymore, but it occurs to me that being friends and friendship- is a precious thing.

Truer words were never spoken. :)

I grow deeply attached to friends, I love them like nobody's business, and those I have lost contact with over the years, I miss them every day.

Something I love about this forum is that ya'll are as much a part of my life as if I knew you in 3D. Sometimes I'll be behaving a certain way and I might think, "What would Daniel/or Vanessa/ or James/or Emproph/ or Jennifer (you get the picture) think/say/do/react? I'm learning a lot from you, and I feel like y'all are giving me guidance as I continue to find myself as an activist, but much more importantly, you're helping me be the human being I was supposed to. I dunno if you have any idea how inspiring you are, and how much I have grown with your support. :rainbow: (sappy gooey mush mush  )

Reading this thread just makes me wish like mad that we could all meet someplace and have these conversations in 3D. Laugh at me for this one, but ya know where I keep picturing us? At an outdoor cafe in *Parma,* of all places!!! I have no idea why I keep picturing that!

Seriously, though, I wish it were possible to meet y'all. I would love to walk up to the group and try to figure which face goes with which name. :D But with our folk all spread out across the continent I can't imagine it being possible. :(

Some of ya are going to this march in CO Springs?? Hubby has already begun planning us a different vacay trip in early July, up around Seattle, Portland, Calgary. . .so I doubt we'd be able to get to CO after that. :( But I'm not about to grudge a vacation in the cooler climes - ya don't wanna be in Phoenix in July.

Keltic, Daniel,

That is so awesome! Thanks for sharing the visit with us.

Zerbie, last July I had an audit in Scottsdale - the hotest week ever when several people didn't make the heat. It was horrible. I dont like to say never, but if I ever make that mistake again, please someone commit me!

This is such a great place and its wonderful to hear about some of us getting to meet others. I think we would find that most people here will be pretty much how we 'met' them on the forums. Seems like everyone says what they have to say in their own way, and that's what makes this place so cool.

Ay! Weren't we in the midst of monsoon season when you were here last summer? Yucky!!! But at least the rain lowers the heat a few degrees.

I'm with ya Tdogg, I think we've pretty well established our ways or relating so thoroughly already, it would be similar in 3D. Ie:

Zerbie,

Think I was just leaving as your monsoon was just arriving. Only had the heat and I think a thunderstorm the last night. However, I slept thru that one! Not so in Texas!

I am hoping to get to Scottsdale next Feb '07, for our Scottsdale Arabian horse show, and hoping against hope that I actually have a horse to show, but either way tentatively planning on going to help the trainer.

So who knows, maybe another SF "meeting in person" is in the works? Have you ever been to the Scottsdale show?

Never been to any kind of a horse show - sounds interesting.

Keep us posted on your travels, and if you do end up in Scottsdale next winter, maybe we could meet for lunch/tea & scones/whatever. :D :D :D
