On September 22, my spouse and I were legally married in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. We're still very happy and in love. One of my spouse's uncles gave us 6 months at best. Well, we've made it a year and a half past that mark already.

My big wish is that the opportunity for everyone who wants to marry the one they love is soon a reality all over the US.

Sorry I missed this when you first posted.

Mazel tov!

As an ex-pat Mainer, I'm still pulling for the good people of Maine to vote down this Fall's proposition to reverse the new, but-not-yet-enacted, same-sex marriage law. If the new law prevails, Dash (poster emeritus here) and I plan to tie the knot next summer. (If it does not, Canada, here we come!)

All the best to you both!

Thanks everyone for the kidd thoughts. Will and I have our fingers and toes crossed for this Tuesday in Maine and Washington. Here's hoping that commonsense and tolerance will overcome ignorance and intolerence.

In a pinch, though, dsdrane, Canada isn't half-bad as a place to get married. I hope Dash and you (as well as any other couples here), have many long and happy years together.
