I was just told about the soulforce website a few days ago and decided to check it out. I am now registered and looking around the website.

About me...I am a seminary student and associate pastor at a Disciples of Christ Church in Wichita, KS. I am straight and married, and I believe it is extremely important for people like me to be out there speaking up on the topic of marriage equality. My church is "open and affirming" and we are in the process of promoting the church as a progressive beacon in the community. I write letters to the editor frequently on social justice issues. Getting hate mail and phone calls does not deter me. This is what I feel called to do in ministry.

Hi Leigh!
welcome to the forums. I think I can safely say that all of us LGBT people are always glad to meet supportive straight people. I hope you enjoy the conversations on here :)

Hello Leigh,

Thank you so much for your support. Equality for LGBT individuals will not be achieved without the support of our straight allies. Face it, there are just not enough of us gays to win the battle on our own. The biggest challenge facing LGBT rights is ironically the churches. Christianity should be be the leader in the fight not the opponent which it sadly often is.

I know Wichita well. I used to live in Winfield, only about 35 miles away. Wichita is where we headed for a day of fun in the big city. :aparty:

Tu Amigo, Pablo
