If someone asked u to stop being white, and let God help you overcome it, what would u say? or how about, stop being a musician? or having brown hair grow out of your head? or anything like that what would u say??

I can change the way i look, dress, talk, act etc. and say "i am straight"

but I will still be a big old LESBIAN it's not something God wants me to "overcome"

if someone told me to stop being white i'd laugh and say that's how God made me. It's in my genetics, being gay isn't as much as you want to try and justify it. God repeadly calls homosexually a abomination so i dont know what God your talking about. My God says its a sin, and that now adulter, murderer, or homosexual is going to heaven unless the confess and repent of there sin. dont flip out when you hear this but know you are either a decieved christian who is living in sin and is going to lose her salvation if she stays on the road she's on, or you experienced an emotion sensation that you confused with getting saved. either way, your decieved, sorry but that's the truth. Sometimes you just want to scream out loud. "Look at me! I still love HIM!" but i know it won't be good enough... because as long as I refuse to change a decision that I didnt make, you wont believe he still loves me for me, as me.... So now, i'm just going to cry in a corner, and hope and pray for enlightenment, on your behalf.

Your response was perfect. No one can argue with heartfelt personal stories. The "this is what I am. This is what being a Christian is in my life" response cannot be argued with. Positive personal statements are the best answer.

Excellent! She still carries the violence of Sanctimonious Heterosexist Oppression in her heart, but you responded with compassion for the internal violence she suffers... and you shed tears of compassion for her suffering as well as your own. She was taught this type of spiritual violence and continues to suffer it, because she surrogates it to others. Violence never ends with violence. Only Love and compassion for yourself and the others end violence. This is the ancient truth of Buddha and Christ.

I'm not a Christian, But I believe Christ to have been a genius of awareness of touchstones to the unlimited capacity of the human heart for unconditional love and compassion. I don't believe in Heaven in the sense that Christianity proposes: that certain rules set out by humans determine salvation or damnation. I do not believe that following these "CONDITIONS" to be any more valid than stepping on cracks in the sidewalk.

Nonviolence also means not committing violence against yourself, because by doing this you harm your heart and inevitably you will collateralize pain to others.

Whatever interpretation people may make of a four or more time translation of a second hand report of what Christ said must be reconciled with the touchstones of Unconditional Love, Unlimited Compassion and Absolute Nonviolence. If the interpretataion does not reconcile, it is a flawed
misinterpretation.

I would suggest, to be bold, looking into another church, since between this and the meeting with your pastor's wife you mentioned last week (How did that go, by the way?) it's pretty clear that the leadership there has a big problem with this that they're not going to let go. (I love the "I don't want to offend but..." right before he said a bunch of offensive BS. It's darling, it really is.)

I just want you to be in a healthy place, and this church is raising red flags.

I don't know anything, but I would be very careful. Not fearful. Just careful. As Matt has suggested, I would start looking for a Sanctuary that welcomes you. Something tells me that if you stick around you are going to be crucified.

Thanks Matt, for wanting me to be in a healthy place. I know it has a lot of red flags, I continue to attend NLCC because of the worship.. i love the music, it helps so much, and brings me to a safe place in my head if not phyically. I know God will protect me, and eventually as was my prayer he will enlightn others...

About 12 years ago. I was outed at the church I grew up in. Haven't been back to that church since.

Some of my remaining close personal straight friends (most have moved out of state) still have facebook links to members of that church that treated me horribly. No way am I going to reconnect with those bitter people.

I find it's better just to ignore them.

Now you know this person better. Unless you're going to see this person every day, I'd drop em off my facebook page.
