My wife and I were talking about this the past several days. Hard to believe that it's already been a year.

I still remember being on my way home and heading across downtown Columbus. I had the radio on, and they said that they'd be back in a few minutes with "an update on the Michael Jackson situation". I thought somebody was suing him again or something. I got to the other side of town, and they came on and said that he was gone. I wasn't a huge fan, but I did like some of his music. Plus, growing up in the 80s, his music was hugely popular.

Gennee & Kevin,

Did you select a response in my Michael Jackson Poll? If so, then you had to select, "Other (Another M. J. Song Not Listed)."

What is your favorite Michael Jackson song that isn't on my list?

I've alwaysloved Michael's music and his contributions to the world. I was three years old when he and John Landis shot the Thriller video, along with Billie Jean and Beat it (which may be my personal favorite of his). I always wanted to meet him and possibly collaborate with him. He was a true inspiration, no matter what time period you refer to.

When I first heard the nonsense coming from Jordan Chandler and his father in 1993, I was beside myself. Nobody's perfect, but how Christian was it to ruin a friendship for personal gain? Jordan's father wouldn't have done what he did if that older friend wasn't Michael Jackson. Then came that other trumped-up prosecution ten years later, from an unidentified plaintiff/witness. No matter what Michael was, it wasn't up to any of us to throw it back in his face. (Then after he died, one of my "Christian" friends said the world is better off without him. To me, that was so stupid! How could anybody say something like that, or even believe it?

There'll never be anybody like Michael Jackson, but what he did for us will stay with me the rest of my life.
