~My~ mother told me that we are ~all~ Equal in the Eyes of God.

~My~ mother told me to be kind, caring and compassionate,
whether to people I knew, know, and loved, or strangers that I didn't know Yet...

~My~ mother told me that Differences, didn't matter,
whether Religion, Race, Gender, Sexuality, Illness or Disability.

~My~ mother told me that we can't fix the world alone,
we can only do our part to change the parts we live in

~My~ mother told me to never lose hope,
because God is all around us

But right now, you say you're not that person...

Because you call me Sick,
for learning that what you always tried to tell me, Is True,

Because you say I Lie,
When I now have the strength to tell, the Truth,

Because you try to turn Against, me,
and everything you ever told me,

But... I know now what is right, what is good, and what is true,
As I let God guide my steps, teaching me how to love,

The ways ~My~ mother always told me.

~V~

One thing about God is that He does accept as we are. That's a very comforting thought in comparison to what society and people say and think about us.

Aye... I wrote this in response to an email from my mother, where she told me "Victoria" is just a "psychosis", as if I have some evil, hidden, alter ego that I'm not aware of, and that I need a long term mental hospital and heavy meds to fix it ~rolls eyes~

You can't "Cure" Sanity ;-)

How about I just tell you that while we use our Given name, outside, but in some sense we can describe ourselves, inside, ~this~ way:

Victoria is a slyph, and can be the water...
Lynx is a lynx, but can be a tree...
DK is a Dragon, but can be a butterfly...

and those names have more, and deeper, meanings, than that.

We have 2 "littles" (an idea from Psychology), but they're still... quiet, hiding, from being ~hurt~... because of the troubles we're in right now... so we keep them safe until we can get to know them better... so it's not that easy to describe... If I can find a scanner sometimes soon, I'll put up the picture we drew...

I'll have to check the site out some other time, still busy trying to get out of my homeless situation, and have a lot of work to do...

But I'm ~still~ a Catholic Girl, and a Christian, just not the roman kind ;-)

That is so true. I had an experience that changed my life, first for the worse, and then for the best.

I was a Jehovah's Witness, and we were taught to confess and we would be forgiven. I confessed and was shunned by all. That was the worse. For 25 years I thought that they were right, that I was "dead in God's eyes." I remember one of elders saying, "If we were still under the Mosaic Law we would gladly stone you to death."

Then I took up meditation, 25 years later. I didn't even know if there were a God by now. A year later in meditation my mind expanded, and I was enveloped in God's Love. There was nothing but that Love, and in that Love I knew that we were all Loved, and that it didn't matter what we did and who we were. And that was the best thing that happened to me in my entire life, this knowing. And now no one can ever take that away from me again.

But to this day I can't feel comfortable in any Christian church; instead I became a Buddhist, and I was glad to hear that my teacher had married gay couples. While I am not a lesbian, this was very important to me.

It saddens me to see how a mother can talk about love and then all the sudden just because you are not what she wants you to be, you are told you have deep problems. I wish you the best.

I love Shortbus! There is the message of accepting others in the movie. However, the message of accepting yourself and being comfortable with yourself is at least as important. The other thing I like about Shortbus is Justin Bond is just so vivacious!:agree:

The spring gathering of Radical Faeries at Short Mountain Sanctuary approaches in 10 weeks. Brian and Victoria, come to the gathering! Private message me and I will give you the information.

(The stewards of the Sanctuary ask that directions and dates not be posted on the internet)

I doesn't matter if you are homeless. There are Faerie folk everywhere who can give you a ride to and from the Sanctuary.

THis is a place of Healing
