From rollingstone.com June 1, 2006 (http://www.yuricareport.com/Campaign2004/WasThe2004ElectionStolen.html)

I've been reading this article on yuricarereport.com (more goodies on that site too). They made all the footnotes links so it’s easier to investigate as you’re reading it and get a better credibility factor feel for it.

There’s a lot of information here, article-wise and 208 footnotes. It's worth a skim at least, maybe we can revive this thread come fall.

I know many of us assume or at least suspect this to be the case, but it's the first detailed analysis that seems to give a good overview of all the variables involved.

I’ve only followed a few links so far, but for all the numbers and breakdown involved it’s pretty interesting.

-I would be remiss if I didn't complicate things further:

Refuted by Salon.com (http://www.yuricareport.com/Campaign2004/2004ElectionWasNotStolen.html)

Yuricareport refutation of refutation (http://www.yuricareport.com/Campaign2004/AVastPoliticalMisfortune.html)

Brings back memories of ‘04... Good times...

P.S. We’re screwed.

Daniel, I'd laugh at your post if I wasn't so busy groaning and rolling my eyes..
(with a respectful caveat, that I'm not from the US so have no real business commenting...)

i am so depressed right now....:(

See...this is why I limit my exposure to real news and political blogs. There's not enough ice cream and nacho cheese Doritos to get me through such stories.

Sigh...

Goin' to the quik trip...

I'd laugh too if I could, but I'm shaking my head at the moment. Will anyone notice these things, take it seriously, DO something? I rather doubt it. And that makes me profoundly sad. To live in a time when our best minds and thoughts are cast aside, Where logic becomes illogic and real concerns are laughed at: these are the times we seem to be living in now.

America is a strange country (I lived in Spain as a child so have some perspective I think), at once great and playing to the lowest common denominator. Everyone has a TV, refrigerator and a car, the right to pursue one's greed: everything, it seems, that one wants. We are victims of our 'success'- blinded by samsara. Unable to see our own suffering and the suffering of others.

(with a respectful caveat, that I'm not from the US so have no real business commenting...) :rolleyes:Caveat duly noted. We’re pretty liberal around here. In fact I’ve recently discovered that I’m “Ultra-liberal.” Call me crazy but I have this idea that people should be allowed to.. vote, and be counted.. as opposed to not so. So please, feel “free” to fire away  (while we still can.. :shifty:). PS--Kennedy's on Colbert Report right now.OMG, What a meaningless coincidence, not just almost not posting this, but deciding to record Colbert tonight for no reason.. That’s like double meaninglessness! Double entropy, double entrope'?

I think it’s a sign. We should definitely forget all about this and never speak of it again. I for one am shutting my eyes as we speak and putting my fingers in my ears, and have made a reservation for a plot of sand to stick my head in. I suggest you do the same.. lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala I can't hear you lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala

Using an electronic voting system that does not create a paper trail, indeed does not create a record of any kind that cannot be easily tampered with shows a barefaced contempt for the democratic process, and the American people.

Peace and Love, BruceChris

P.S. In some places in California they are now using E.V.M.'s that are Not made by Dieboldt, and Do create a paper trail. :weee: :agree:

Using an electronic voting system that does not create a paper trail...

Kennedy's article asserts that it wasn't a matter of changing votes once they were cast, but rather, messing with the voter rolls (read: democratic) before the voters even got to the polls.

that in large parts of the rest of the world, Dubbyah has a single didget approval rating....... There was no mention of what his disapproval rating was.
