If you're trying to decide on a movie to see this weekend, consider Nacho Libre. Black and White Productions is one of Soulforce's sponsors. Mike White, the screenplay writer for Nacho Libre, is Mel White's son.
I haven't seen the movie yet (going tonight), so this is not a review. Lamar, the people's movie critic over at bobandsheri.com (http://www.bobandsheri.com/archive/moviereview.cfm?ID=255) liked it.

What a great reason to see the movie - and from watching the trailers, it looks very funny! We are planning on seeing it, but doesn't always work out with my busy schedule. Will try hard to get out to Nacho Libre tho - looks like a heartwarming storyline and I could use a couple hours of LMAO!

I've now seen Nacho Libre and I liked it alot. I was a little worried, given the critic's reviews over at Yahoo! Movies (http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=info&id=1809253627). If you liked the humor in Napoleon Dynamite, I think you'll like Nacho Libre.
My favorite line in the movie is when Ignacio, fond of a nun and weary of the celibacy vows, describes his life to the kids. He says something like, "It's great! You get up at dawn to make breakfast for everyone in the orphanage. You get to sleep in a nice bed... by yourself... for your entire life. It is FABULOUS!!"

Last night, I dispatched my two caregivers to take in the early evening performance of NACHO LIBRE. I will learn about their review of the film.
I especially found CHUCK & BUCK to be a study in arrested psychosexual development and denial worthy of the writing and the acting. Now that I know that he is Mel White's son, the connexion will be that more meaningful.

I loved Chuck and Buck. It's my favorite of Mike's movies. Mel and Gary don't care for it. Go figure.
